What is a communications services marketplace?
Many communications industry services are quickly becoming multi-party solutions. Communications service providers (CSPs) need a new go-to-market approach for engaging and serving customers, especially enterprise customers and other CSPs. This will also require a new way of engaging ecosystem partners that will be part of this approach. This new approach is called the communications services marketplace. This marketplace differs from another option that has been the subject of much discussion recently: the platform play. The difference lies primarily in the variety of services sold and the number of participating companies engaged. This survey is designed to make the distinction between the two and uncover the strategies CSPs, their partners and potential partners plan to pursue when it comes to being part of a marketplace or operating more of a platform business model.
