My Upskilling Story: Tech Mahindra certify over 2,800 people in TM Forum Standards
Faced with urgent industry challenges - cost pressures, customer experience demands, and the rise of AI - Tech Mahindra reimagined its telco engagement model. It shifted from a traditional services approach to an AI-native, platform-led model, aligning tightly to key telco priorities such as cost transformation, legacy modernisation, and revenue diversification beyond connectivity. This transformation required more than just technology - it demanded a new way of operating at scale and speed.
To support this pivot, Tech Mahindra embedded TM Forum standards across its solution portfolio and operating model. It restructured around cross-functional service centres and adopted TM Forum’s assessment tools and ODA frameworks (e.g., eTOM, SID, Open APIs) to guide platform design, delivery, and measurement. Critically, over 2,800 employees were certified on TMF foundations, with targeted upskilling across engineering, integration, advisory, and implementation teams. Certification went beyond knowledge - creating a common language for value chain impact, cross-team collaboration, and platform reusability.
This investment in skills and standards is paying off. Tech Mahindra now brings certified, future-proofed platforms to market faster, with over 59 Open API certifications already achieved. It enables customers to reduce legacy costs, accelerate time-to-market, and create new revenue through modular, interoperable solutions. At the same time, it feeds real-world learnings back into the TM Forum community - co-developing frameworks and advancing the industry’s collective transformation agenda.
