DTW (Digital Transformation World)
Autonomous networks were a central focus at DTW Ignite. Jean Lawrence, Vice President, Marketing & Communications at Nokia, explains how her company can help service providers on their journey to Level 5
Success with AI demands multi-domain, multi-vendor and multi-cloud capabilities
Nokia showcased its "sense, think, act" framework to help service providers progress to Level 5 of TM Forum’s maturity model for autonomous networks (AN), which offersobservability, closed-loop automation and AI.
When building AI models, 70% of customers’ time is spent on data collection and cleansing, says Jean Lawrence, Nokia’s VP of Marketing, prompting its SaaS products to streamline the process. Nokia also launched its SaaS-based Autonomous Networks Fabric and the first twoapplications, for data and assurance, at the event.
Nokia has multi-domain, multi-vendor and multi-cloud capabilities, according to Lawrence, to provide end-to-end orchestration across complex network environments. Its AI-driven solutions, such as GenAI and Agentic AI, enhance efficiency and security. Examples include CyberDome for threat detection and AI tools that assist workers in industrial settings. An award-winning Catalyst project with China Mobile demonstrated GenAI’s power in reducing engineers’ information retrieval time.
Nokia commissioned research, conducted by TM Forum in AN adoption, which found only 4% of service providers have reached Level 4. Key drivers for AN adoption include improved customer experience and operational efficiency, with regions like Asia and the Middle East leading in maturity
