How identity is driving the market for network APIs
Network operators widely recognize that part of being competitive in a cloud-dominated market involves giving developers one set of APIs to access the services they need.
In 2023, GSMA’s Open Gateway Initiative was launched to do just that, providing a global program for network monetization with the Linux Foundation’s CAMARA project and TM Forum providing the standardized APIs. Then in 2024 a consortium of leading telecoms operators formed Aduna in association with Ericsson to accelerate the global commercialization of network APIs.
As Aduna rolls out GSMA Open Gateway-based APIs, we explore how far telcos have advanced in making network APIs easily accessible tools and where they are focusing their efforts.
