Autonomous networks: exploring the evolution from level 0 to level 5

The progressive evolution of Communications Service Providers (CSPs) from traditional 20th century telcos to the digital operators of the future is the story of automation. But even though automation greatly simplifies operations, it is far from easy to put in place.

The journey from initially automating single, repetitive manual tasks to developing a self-aware, self-governing operational model is fraught with challenges. For this reason TM Forum's members formed the Autonomous Networks Project (ANP) and developed a six-step maturity model to assess CSPs' progress.

In our report 'Autonomous networks: Exploring the evolution from level 0 to level 5' we detail each step of the maturity model from a telco's perspective.
