Autonomous networks (ANs) represent a transformative shift for CSPs, enabling them to operate more efficiently, deliver better customer experience and innovate rapidly. But while these are common motivations for operators, they also face differing challenges and drivers depending, for example, on their technology maturity, financial situations and local market requirements.
For this report we set out with a simple question: what are the drivers for autonomous network implementation in different regions of the world and (how) do they differ? The research builds on our AN Benchmark report, published in December 2024, drawing on an extended survey from that report and focusing on regional analysis. It looks at the business goals and visions driving AN adoption, the main challenges for communications service providers (CSPs), and which domains and processes they are prioritizing for AN implementation.
