On location: 5G ups the ante for geolocation services
Geolocation has long been used by communications service providers (CSPs) to deliver personal, targeted services to customers. Geolocation data captured by mobile networks is increasingly rich, enabling CSPs to support a range of services such as mission-critical communications, asset tracking and location-based advertising. Now, in conjunction with 5G networks – and in particular 5G standalone networks with a native 5G core – CSPs can move services to the next level, providing greater accuracy and richer data insights.
