Showcasing how Ericsson helps customers sell, deliver and get paid
As well as sharing a keynote with T-Mobile, Ericsson is involved in Catalyst projects and will be launching additions to its BSS/OSS portfolio, Mats Karlsson (MK), Head of Solution Area Business and Operations Support Systems at Ericsson, tells TM Forum.
MK: Autonomous networks are a key focus area for Ericsson as we support our customers on their journey to networks that can self-configure, self-optimize, self-heal, and self-learn, all without human intervention. I recently joined the leadership team of TM Forum’s Autonomous Networks Mission, which is instrumental in defining the requirements for truly autonomous networks, including the integration of Gen AI and the establishment of self-healing domains.
The pace of change is intensifying as we move towards autonomous networks and differentiated connectivity, and in parallel there are so many exciting new services emerging. Our primary focus is really remarkably simple: We’re here with our OSS/BSS to help our customers sell, deliver and get paid.
What we do is critical for the success of their business. I’ll be talking on stage with T-Mobile, a long-time customer of ours that is truly breaking new ground with 5G.
MK: With all that’s advancing there’s a lot of buzz words, a lot of hype – and we need to cut through it. The way we can help most is taking a pragmatic, no-nonsense approach to really drive impact through to our customers’ business and operations in the most effective ways.
The truth is, multiple transformation areas must combine to make a real impact because there are dependencies and synergies between data, AI, cloud and IT, service orchestration, core commerce and monetization.
Think about it: Take AI for example. AI needs useful data and robust cloud and IT infrastructure. Plus, it supercharges core commerce and monetization by automating routine tasks, enabling dynamic adjustments and taking analytics to the next level. We manage intent in service orchestration with AI; this is the foundation for accelerating towards autonomous networks level 4 and full autonomy. Every part of the system landscape needs to keep up with ever the ever-increasing velocity, volume and variety of interactions and transactions.
Our customers are continuously evolving and so are we – and we all need to evolve faster. We are continuously investing, continuously evolving, continuously innovating in collaboration with our customers and partners.
MK: Find out how we can help in each of the main transformation areas: data, AI, cloud and IT, service orchestration, core commerce and monetization. Visit the Ericsson booth (#303) where we’ll have several demos for visitors. Also, you can see how we’re working with AWS to manage intent at the AWS booth.
We’re constantly collaborating with our customers and partners to evolve OSS/BSS in the most useful way. At DTW Ignite you can check out some of the Catalyst projects Ericsson is participating in. They include AI-powered ODA in a Box for B2B2X, Empowering B2B sales through GenAI: Tailored offering, smarter selling and End-to-end service realization using intent-based networks.
