"Our customers and partners want to connect with CloudSense using TM Forum Open APIs—and now they can" - Vish Kumar, SVP, Product Management, CloudSense
My API Story: Leveraging AI to cut a 26-month certification process to one month
I’m the SVP of Product Management at CloudSense, where I drive the product strategy and roadmap for our Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) platform. My role focuses on delivering scalable, future-ready solutions tailored to the telecom industry. Since joining the TelcoDR portfolio, we've evolved CloudSense—the only telco-native CPQ platform—to be telco-focused, AI-native, embedding AI-driven decisioning and TM Forum standards into our quoting and order flows. I work directly with customers and partners to ensure our product stays ahead of industry demands.
Operators need vendors to be open and support TMF APIs—it's that simple. The program enables the composable architectures and ecosystem interoperability that telcos require for agility and innovation.
Before AI, API certification was a resource-intensive process that forced vendors to choose between TM Forum compliance and core product development. A 26-month timeline meant pulling engineers away from valuable product work, creating a natural resistance to supporting open standards.
AI changes this equation completely. Using Totogi's BSS Magic, we automated the entire process and delivered TM Forum compliance in 30 days. This eliminates the traditional vendor excuse of "we don't have the resources" or "it's not on our roadmap."
● TMF620 Product Catalog Management
● TMF622 Product Ordering
● TMF629 Customer Management
● TMF648 Quote Management
● TMF640 Service Inventory
These APIs form the backbone of any CPQ process. They enable real-time discovery, configuration, quoting, and ordering of services while ensuring compatibility across systems. As telcos move toward AI-powered automation and modular BSS stacks, these APIs help us meet operator expectations for plug-and-play integration, dynamic offer management, and rapid fulfillment.
Our customers and partners want to connect with CloudSense using TM Forum Open APIs—and now they can. These five APIs enable direct integration between CloudSense and operator BSS/OSS systems for complete quote-to-cash workflows.
Our Salesforce-native platform exposes these APIs as standard endpoints, allowing operators to integrate CloudSense into their composable architecture without custom development. Partners can build on top of our CPQ capabilities using standardized interfaces, and operators can orchestrate end-to-end processes across multiple vendors.
For organizations open to coding with AI, Totogi's BSS Magic will generate TMF-compliant code to accelerate development timelines and enable faster interoperability. BSS Magic automates the entire integration process—from code generation to testing—eliminating the traditional bottlenecks that slow down development work. This means operators can connect new systems in weeks instead of months, while maintaining full compliance with TM Forum standards.
Operators are demanding vendor openness, and TM Forum APIs are appearing in more RFPs than ever. Without certification, CloudSense was being excluded from sales cycles, locked out before we could even demonstrate our capabilities.
Our excuse was always resources and time. A 26-month certification timeline meant pulling engineers off core product development, which was never going to happen. We couldn't justify the opportunity cost.
BSS Magic eliminated the excuses. In 30 days, we certified 13 APIs (the maximum for our product!) without diverting our engineering team from building features customers actually use. The result? We're now procurement-ready for operators who require TM Forum compliance. One CSP deployment has already cut order creation time by 80%, transforming what used to take hours into minutes for complex multi-service orders.
Our TMF-certified APIs are live across more than 60 customer deployments in Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and Europe, and are now being extended to new operator groups in India and Africa. This global footprint positions CloudSense among the most widely deployed TMF-compliant CPQ platforms in telecom. Our customers are delighted that we now belong to the select group of vendors supporting the Open APIs.
These APIs are available to both new and existing CloudSense customers looking to expand their digital experiences—whether through ecommerce journeys, personalized self-service portals, or integrations with new BSS and OSS systems.
Yes. In addition to the 13 TM Forum Open APIs we certified, CloudSense provides an extensive set of ecommerce APIs that support rich, customer-facing experiences—including personalized portals and self-service journeys.
Because CloudSense is fully native to Salesforce, it also leverages the broader Salesforce API ecosystem to deliver a true 360-degree customer experience.
