I am a technology enthusiast dedicated to driving innovation through technology. My primary focus is on developing advanced software platforms. This includes cloud-native 5G core and 5G radio technology, alongside support platforms like digital OSS/BSS to maximize next-gen network technology output. These ground-breaking solutions are proudly designed, developed, and manufactured in India, contributing to our nation’s technological prowess. I am also actively involved in 5G Advanced and early 6G research, aiming to lead R&D initiatives in the dynamic realm of 5G.

At Jio Platforms Limited, we believe in the transformational power of TM Forum’s Open API initiative. This program acts as a catalyst for innovation, standardization, and interoperability in the telecom sector. Adopting TM Forum’s Open API program enables us to explore new possibilities and deliver exceptional services to our customers.

What TM Forum Open APIs are most valuable to your company?

We integrate four of TM Forum’s Open APIs into our OSS/BSS platforms to streamline operations and enhance the customer experience:

  • Product Catalog Management (TMF620)
  • Product Ordering (TMF622)
  • Customer Management (TMF629)
  • Usage Management (TMF635)

We manage our product offerings using the Product Catalog Management API, which ensures accurate and up-to-date product information for our customers. The Product Ordering API automates the ordering and provisioning process, ensuring quick service activation. With the Customer Management API, we manage customer profiles, preferences, and interactions, to provide personalized experiences. Finally, the Usage Management API helps us monitor and analyze usage data to better serve our customers.

Why did you choose to highlight those APIs?

The Product Catalog Management (TMF620) API is essential for efficient enterprise product catalog organization. It allows us to effectively manage the full product lifecycle, providing clients with accurate and current information, streamlining catalog management processes, and enabling quick introduction of new services and packages.[AC1]

The Product Ordering (TMF622) API is crucial for managing the entire product order lifecycle, including placement, retrieval, modification, tracking, and cancellation. It helps automate the ordering process, handle fulfilment, and ensures prompt provisioning and service activation for our customers within the defined SLA. The Product Ordering API enhances our operational efficiency and enables us to deliver a seamless customer experience.[AC2]

The Customer Management (TMF629) API is highly valuable as it enables us to effectively manage customer profiles and interactions. It supports onboarding, profile updates, and personalized service delivery, fostering the delivery of tailored experiences, leading to improved customer satisfaction and loyalty.[AC3]

For monitoring and managing customer service usage, the Usage Management (TMF635) API plays a vital role. It helps monitor and analyze usage data, enabling us to provide personalized recommendations, improve service plans, and enhance the overall customer experience. Our ability to provide transparent and accurate usage information to our customers ensures a seamless usage journey.[AC4]

By leveraging these APIs, Jio Platforms Limited has reaped substantial benefits. Jio Platforms’ OSS/BSS platforms have enabled Reliance Jio to cut back on manual processes, minimized process errors and improved operational efficiency. This has enabled a seamless customer experience, leading to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty. Furthermore, the use of these APIs has boosted revenue, cut costs, and streamlined operations.

Our OSS/BSS products heavily utilize TM Forum’s Open APIs, supporting our operations in India. The APIs provide a standardized method for systems and platforms to communicate and exchange data, simplifying the creation, implementation and integration of various services and solutions.

Where do you use them?

Jio Platforms uses TM Forum’s Open APIs to onboard Reliance Jio’s retail and enterprise 4G/5G customers across mobility, fixed line and IoT lines of business. While these APIs provide significant individual value, Jio Platforms has also integrated a combination of relevant APIs to meet the network’s unique business needs. These integrations allow Jio Platforms to deliver comprehensive solutions, address diverse customer requirements, and drive continuous innovation.
