TM Forum and GSMA are pleased to announce availability of our new joint conformance certification program. This program enables certification of TM Forum Operate APIs which helps to accelerate the global API economy and enables CSPs to monetize network capabilities and data at global scale.

GSMA and TM Forum partner to advance network API monetization at scale
I am delighted to share that a new joint program between GSMA and TM Forum to validate TM Forum Operate APIs for GSMA’s Open Gateway program is now available, enabling faster integration, lower costs, and reduced complexity in marketplace and CPaaS collaborations.
TM Forum and GSMA are pleased to announce availability of our new joint conformance certification program. This program to enable certification of TM Forum Operate APIs marks a major step forward in accelerating the global API economy and enabling operators to monetize network capabilities and data, at global scale.
With the Operate API standards, CSPs benefit from quick, seamless integration with channel partners and marketplaces in the Open Gateway ecosystem; vendors can efficiently deliver standards-based solutions; and aggregators and marketplaces can adopt Open Gateway APIs with confidence in their interoperability and security. Certification for this single global standard guarantees interoperability between partners in the ecosystem, removing integration complexity, speeding up time-to-market, and empowering operators and developers to create new services and revenue streams at scale.
Operators are under pressure to move beyond connectivity and unlock new growth opportunities. Open Gateway APIs are central to this transformation, enabling CSPs to expose network capabilities in a standardized way that developers can rely on to work on any network their customers are using.
Telefónica, a leading member of the program, is validating how global standards can turn ambition into reality – creating scalable, interoperable solutions for the entire ecosystem. Telefónica’s extensive contributions to this program demonstrate its leadership in Open Gateway API conformance and place the organization on track to be the first to certify.
“For the telecoms industry, delivering secure and standardized access to network capabilities is essential to unlocking innovation. By enabling enterprise developers to build transformative services that monetize data and infrastructure, we pave the way for new growth. With the launch of the conformance program in partnership with TM Forum, we’re empowering operators worldwide to confidently join a unified, global API ecosystem,” added Alex Sinclair, CTO, GSMA.
"We’re excited to illustrate what’s possible when the industry aligns on world-class standards. Through our partnership with GSMA, we’re providing trusted and proven foundations for ensuring solutions work seamlessly across infrastructures – enabling operators to innovate, build out their ecosystems, and return the industry to growth” said George Glass, CTO, TM Forum.
The GSMA conformance certification program, first announced in partnership with TM Forum in June 2025, is now generally available to CSPs globally. It provides a single means to verify both TM Forum Operate APIs and CAMARA Service APIs are conformant to Open Gateway standards. This extends a long-standing collaboration between TM Forum and GSMA, and enables CSPs to integrate solutions with marketplace platforms, such as Aduna, and CPaaS providers including Vonage, Infobip and others. Certification gives operators and their ecosystems confidence that solutions will work seamlessly across infrastructures and vendors to increase speed, scale, and simplicity in launching new services.
We encourage you to join us at Innovate Asia 2025 TM Forum’s flagship regional event running 25-27 November in Bangkok, for our session Unlocking revenue from Network APIs. In this session, we explore how CSPs can turn Network APIs into powerful revenue engines, moving beyond connectivity to deliver high-value, cross-industry services.
