Shankar notes that telcos’ traditional focus on analytical and engineering capabilities is shifting to place greater emphasis on emotional quotient (EQ) and leaders’ ability to bridge organizational silos. Communications service providers (CSPs) also need partners to help them scale AI. He points to Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s citizen chatbot as an example of a successful AI use case that not only addresses monetization challenges but also delivers social benefits.
