Innovate Americas
At Innovate Americas, Manish Mangal, President and Head – Americas Communication Business, Tech Mahindra, explored how converged networks can give everyone in the US access to broadband, and foster AI-driven innovation across North America.
Exploring what AI can do for networks, how networks can fulfill AI’s potential
Converged connectivity – fiber, mobility and satellite – are a perfect combination to bring broadband and the power of AI to everyone in the US, according to Manish Mangal, President and Head – Americas Communication Business, Tech Mahindra.
He talked about how AI can improve how we plan, design, build and operate networks, using technologies like digital twins, to improve service delivery, management and operations. This is how to give customers better experience, including more personalization and could be executed for example, through Tech Mahindra’s Orion platform.
This platform contains hundreds of agents – a horizontal AI capability, designed to help communications service providers (CSPs) achieve these goals.
On the flip side, looking at what networks should do for AI, Mangal stated enterprises need a much more distributed network architecture to carry out inferences local to the customer to “drive better behavior for AI.” The need for distributed architecture opens up a huge opportunity for CSPs.
In his view, systems integrators has a pivotal role in the ecosystem, with technological innovation on the one hand and helping CPS leverage that innovation for their customers on the other.
Mangal stresses that applying innovation is not only for green field situations. A big part is about integrating AI into telcos’ existing operating environment to achieve speed at scale and AI “delivered right” to generate real-world business outcomes.
