Embracing innovation to address sustainability in Asia

CSG's Executive Director of Corporate Strategy, Haifa El Ashkar, explains why innovation and technology are both a problem and a solution in telecoms, and particularly when it comes to sustainability and achieving profitability. A data-hungry world driven by IoT, augmented reality and AI is putting pressure on networks and our environment, she says, but adds that there is a lot of focus and innovation in Asia on addressing the problem. In particular she points to innovations around AI driving the management of data centers, as well as telcos using digital twins to lower footprint and manage costs and operations to help drive profitability.
