Aaron Boasman-Patel – Vice President, Content, Research & Media


Aaron Boasman-Patel is responsible for content across TM Forum’s research portfolio, the digital content platform, Inform, as well as leading content and research across the events and Digital Leadership Summits portfolio, including TM Forum Live! This is fed back to the Collaboration team to help drive the Forum’s strategic direction and collaborative program.

He has chaired many international conferences and delivered presentations on smart cities, customer centricity, Internet of Everything, industry developments, market trends and strategy. Aaron has worked in the telecoms and associated industries for over ten years. He graduated with an M.A. (Oxon) from the University of Oxford. Aaron specializes in:

Mark Newman – Chief Analyst, Research & Media


Mark Newman is an analyst with 25 years’ experience delivering insights on the future of the telecoms sector to senior level executives and audiences. Mark was Chief Research Officer at Informa Telecoms & Media and Ovum and then went on to set up his own research firm, ConnectivityX, in 2016, before joining TM Forum in February 2017.

He delivers analysis, presentations, strategy sessions and workshops to global audiences, helping them to plan for the changes in technology and disruptive new business models that will fundamentally transform their businesses. Mark’s recent areas of research have focused on:

  • – Telecoms operator business models;
  • – Digital transformation;
  • – Service provider diversification; and
  • – The intersection between internet and telecoms.

Dawn Bushaus – Managing Editor, Research & Media


Dawn Bushaus began her career in technology journalism in 1989 at Telephony magazine, which means she’s been writing about networking for almost 30 years.

In 1996, Dawn joined a team of journalists to start a McGraw-Hill publication called, and in 2000, she helped a team at Ziff-Davis launch The Net Economy, where she held senior writing and editing positions. Prior to joining TM Forum in August 2013, Dawn worked as a freelance analyst for Heavy Reading. Dawn’s areas of interest are:

  • – NFV and SDN;
  • – Automation;
  • – Platforms;
  • – Artificial intelligence; and
  • – 5G.

Catherine Haslam – Senior Analyst, TM Forum


Catherine Haslam is an analyst with 20 years’ experience in providing insight, analysis, and consulting services to decision-makers within CSPs.

Catherine joined TM Forum in October 2016 from Ovum where she specialized in third party enablement, international service evolution and wholesale strategy, and led successful strategy consulting projects on the impact of OTT on CSP revenues.

As a freelance analyst and journalist, Catherine helped develop an entertainment-focused practice at analyst firm STL Partners and set up the Asia arm of the Light Reading news service.

Prior to this she worked for the GSMA where she was responsible for setting the agenda for the Mobile World Congress, speech writing for and providing background research to the management team, and advising on technical initiatives. She also held senior editorial roles including Group Editor for Mobile Europe.
